14th July 2025 – (Los Angeles) Warner Bros. and DC Studios’ latest Superman film claimed the number one spot at the North American box office this weekend, earning $122 million, according to data from Comscore released on Sunday. Directed by James Gunn, the rebooted superhero film features David Corenswet as Superman/Clark Kent, breathing new life into the iconic DC Comics character.
On the international stage, the film brought in an additional $95 million, boosting its global weekend earnings to an impressive $217 million.
Superman holds an 82% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 352 reviews. Audience response has also been strong, with the film receiving an “A-” grade from CinemaScore, which gauges viewer satisfaction. Taking the second spot at the box office, Universal and Amblin’s Jurassic World Rebirth generated $40 million in its second weekend. The film’s North American earnings now stand at $232.1 million, with a worldwide total of $529.5 million.
In third place, F1 The Movie, a collaboration between Warner Bros. and Apple Original Films, earned $13 million in its third weekend. The film’s North American earnings have reached $136.2 million.
