27th September 2022 – (Hong Kong) It was circulated on social media that a Secondary 1 student who called him “ShadowLST” from Lok Sin Tong Leung Kau Kui College in Sai Ying Pun sent emails to teachers and students in the school and found that there were loopholes in the school’s computer system server. He warned that if free downloads not allowed on e-Learning tablets for students or if the mobile device (MDM) management rights not uninstalled, he will hack into the entire system server.
He claimed that it is impossible for the school to catch him, and that there are 7 members of the organisation, and even the principal’s account can be easily hacked. The school said that after investigation, it was found that the sender had stolen a teacher’s email account. The school took action yesterday morning to ensure that the school’s confidential information system was not compromised, and called the police in the afternoon of the same day. The source said that the “hacker” only used the teacher’s email account and did not hack into the computer system.
