3rd August 2020 – (Hong Kong) The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) said this afternoon (3rd) that a student who had lived in the Adam Schall Residence tested positive for COVID-19. The student has been followed up by the Centre for Health Protection and sent to the hospital for treatment. CUHK implemented disinfection and epidemic prevention measures today to protect the health of students and staff.
CUHK pointed out that the student lived in one of the units on the second floor of the dormitory. He had left the dormitory before the diagnosis on 2nd August and was sent to the hospital for treatment. In order to protect the health and safety of all employees and students who have been in contact with the confirmed case, CUHK announced the immediate closure of the entire Adam Schall Residence and immediately cleaned and disinfected related rooms and public areas. Students living in the male dormitory on the same floor will be quarantined, while employees who have worked in the dormitory will be tested for the virus.
