Standby Signal, No. 1 now in force with occasional squally showers in Hong Kong

1st August 2020 – (Hong Kong) Standby Signal, No. 1 Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal was hoisted at 9.10pm by Hong Kong Observatory.

Under the influence of the outer rainbands of Sinlaku, there will still be occasional squally showers in Hong Kong.

As Sinlaku is moving away from Hong Kong, local winds are weakening gradually. When Sinlaku no longer poses a threat to Hong Kong, the Observatory will cancel all the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signals.

As there are swells, members of the public are advised to stay away from the shoreline and not to engage in water sports.
