17th September 2020 – (Hong Kong) Hong Kong Observatory announced at 12pm today that Tropical Cyclone Noul adopted a more westerly track this morning and maintained some distance from Hong Kong. According to the present forecast track, Noul will skirt around 800 kilometres southwest of Hong Kong later today. Its direct threat to Hong Kong is not high. The chance to issue tropical cyclone warning signal is relatively low.
With the northeast monsoon affecting the south China coast gradually, there will be occasional strong winds over offshore waters and on high ground in Hong Kong today and tomorrow. Showers will also increase gradually with squally thunderstorms. There will be swells. Members of the public should beware of the weather change.
