This iconic annual outdoor youth arts festival and puppet parade promises a vibrant celebration of art and culture, featuring a captivating array of colourful creatures and artistic styles from around the world. The festival draws inspiration from Saint-Saëns’ beloved composition, The Carnival of the Animals. Over the course of two days, visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a world of wonder and creativity, completely free of charge. The highlight of the event is the spectacular giant puppet parade, where larger-than-life puppet creations will come to life in a mesmerising procession. Among the featured puppets are a pufferfish adorned with vibrant Mexican-inspired patterns, a gorilla showcasing colours inspired by African tribal art, a flamingo embellished with intricate Asian paper folk art designs, a metallic cyberpunk-style mantis, and a monochromatic flying dinosaur fossil. These larger-than-life puppets, standing at an impressive 3.5 meters tall, are sure to leave audiences in awe.
