Spokesperson for ‘REVIVE SHEUNG SHUI’ street rally assaulted by 4 men with bamboo sticks

19th August 2019 – (Hong Kong) At around 11pm yesterday, the spokesperson for ‘Revive Sheung Shui’ street rally in July, 43 year old Leung was having beer next Shing Mun River in Sha Tin. 4 men suddenly approached him, sprinkled some unidentified powder over his face before hitting him with at least 20 strokes using bamboo sticks. He sustained injuries on his head, hands and back. The assailants then warned him, ‘Do not cause any more trouble, you won’t be so lucky next time’ before fleeing the scene. He was then sent to hospital for further treatment.

Police have started investigation on the case. Meanwhile, the organiser of Revive Sheung Shui, Chung said that there was a hidden motive behind the attack.
