2nd July 2022 – (Hong Kong) The first No. 8 Southeast Gale or Storm Signal this year is still in force until 5pm later (2nd). The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) announced that the Special Edition of “A Symphony of Lights” originally scheduled to be held at 8pm tonight, will be suspended, the event has been suspended for two consecutive days.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), the Tourism Commission, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), will launch “Hong Kong Harbour Fiesta”, a Special Edition of “A Symphony of Lights” multi-media show, from 1st – 31st July 2022. Apart from the existing participating buildings / attractions, there will be 10 additional buildings and sites participating in the Special Edition of “A Symphony of Lights”, including Central Pier No. 4 – 6, the Legislative Council Complex, CITIC Tower, Empire Centre, Great Eagle Centre, Hong Kong Palace Museum, Sunshine Plaza, Tsim Sha Tsui Centre, Water Sports and Recreation Precinct at Wan Chai Harbourfront and Wan Chai Temporary Promenade. The LED panels / façade walls of participating buildings will be reprogrammed to synchronise with the new symphony for the show to display celebratory messages and festive animations to celebrate HKSAR’s 25th anniversary. Additional lightings will also be installed at the promenades of both sides of the Victoria Harbour and Star Ferries to enhance the audio and visual effects.
