Man jumps off platform at MTR Tai Wo Station resulting in delay of train services (Updated: 12.27pm)


27th November 2021 – (Hong Kong) At about 10.30am this morning (27th), the MTR announced that the train service of the East Rail Line had been delayed and called on passengers to allow sufficient time for the journey. According to sources, a man jumped off the platform at Tai Wo Station and caused the delay.

The station immediately sent staff to the scene to deal with it, and notified the traffic control centre to call the police and notify the firefighting team. CCTV footage showed that a male passenger jumped into the track by himself while the train entered the platform. The male victim was certified dead.

By about 11.45am in the morning, the train service of the East Rail Line returned to normal.
