30th September 2023 – (Hong Kong) Social media influencer Joseph Lam Chok, who was previously arrested and later granted bail in relation to the JPEX virtual asset trading platform case, celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival by leaving Hong Kong with his mother and girlfriend, Hiromi Wada. Lam shared photos on social media that depicted him seemingly unaffected by recent events. In the images, a lavish feast consisting of seafood, red wine, and delicacies like hairy crabs adorned the table. However, his extravagant display drew criticism from netizens who sarcastically commented, “Enjoy your good food when you have the chance,” “Do you know that many people are struggling to make ends meet?” and “You’re still indulging yourself.”
Lam’s girlfriend, Hiromi, appeared to be in high spirits, suggesting that she has integrated well into the family. Additionally, some netizens mistakenly identified Lam’s grandmother as mainland Chinese singer Han Hong, sparking a heated discussion online.
