9th February 2023 – (Hong Kong) At around 1.40am today, the slide at the On Chit Street Playground in Shek Yam caught fire. Flames soared into the sky and thick smoke billowed into the air.
Many nearby residents who witnessed the fire reported to the police for help. Firefighters extinguished the fire, but no one was injured and no evacuation was required. Firefighters found a smell of accelerant near the slide. They believed that the cause of the fire was suspicious and police were notified. The case was classified as arson, and no one has been arrested yet.
