27th May 2023 – (Changsha) The popular Chinese music competition show “Sisters Who Make Waves” Season 4 continues to receive rave reviews since its premiere. After two rounds of eliminations, the latest episode features 28 talented female stars forming eight teams to compete in the second public performance knock-out battle. Among them is Ada Choi, who had a breakdown during the first public performance due to the pressure of singing and dancing, but has since transformed and gained confidence.
In the latest knock-out battle, Ada, along with Rain Lee and others dressed in all-black outfits with long boots, performed the fast-paced song “Take Me to Find the Nightlife.” The group came up with the slogan “We are midnight revellers, very happy,” and their performance was lighthearted and enjoyable. During rehearsals, Ada expressed her excitement about dancing on such a large stage, saying, “It’s so cool.”

During the previous public performance, Ada broke down and cried due to the pressure of performing. However, this time, Ada seemed to have mastered the art of singing and dancing and was much more relaxed. She said, “We can overcome the most difficult parts, and nothing can knock us down.” Ada and her teammates had a strong sense of unity, and their idealperformance on stage was a crowd-pleaser. The audience cheered and clapped, and Ada was thrilled with her performance, saying, “I can’t control myself now. I’m so passionate, sweating all over my body. I’m so excited. I didn’t miss a beat just now. I’m so happy.”
The group’s performance of “Take Me to Find the Nightlife” earned them high scores, and during the show, the host asked Ada about her own nightlife. She revealed that her idea of a fun night involves making instant noodles in the kitchen and eating with her husband, which they find very sweet.
Ada, born in Hong Kong in 1973 to a Chaozhou family, is a multilingual actress who speaks Cantonese, Mandarin, Teochow, and English. She participated in a modeling contest held by TVB at the age of 15 and later became a contestant in the 1991 Miss Hong Kong beauty pageant, where she finished as second runner-up. After signing a contract with TVB, she took on acting jobs and won the TVB Anniversary Award for Best Actress for her performance in “Secret of the Heart” (1998). Along with other prominent actresses like Maggie Cheung Ho-yee, Kenix Kwok, Flora Chan, and Jessica Hsuan, Ada is known asone of the Top 5 “Fa Dans” (popular actresses) of TVB from the mid-1990s to mid-2000s.
Ada has continued to shine in the entertainment industry over the years, with a diverse range of roles. In 2009, she starred in “Rebellion” as a triad gang leader who chain-smokes and curses, which was a departure from her usual roles. In recent years, Ada has also participated in numerous variety and reality shows as a regular cast member, including “Up Idol” (2015), “Run for Time” (2015), “My Dearest Ladies” (2019), and “Viva La Romance” (2020).
In 2008, Ada married Chinese actor Max Zhang, whom she had been dating for more than four years. They have two daughters, Zoe and Chloe, born in 2011 and 2013, respectively. In 2019, the couple announced on social media that they were expecting their third child and welcomed their son, Joey Zhang Le’er aka Yudan, in November 2019.
