25th September 2023 – (Hangzhou) On day 2 of the Hangzhou Asian Games, Siobhan Haughey has achieved a remarkable victory for Hong Kong by securing a gold medal in the pool. The accomplished athlete, who previously won two Olympic silver medals, now claims her third medal of these Games with an outstanding performance in the 200m freestyle final, an event in which she excels.

Following a bustling opening day in Hangzhou, Hong Kong continues to impress by earning several more medals on Monday morning. Chiu Hin-chun secured a bronze in the men’s single sculls final in rowing, while Cheung Hoi-lam and Leung King-wan obtained a silver in the women’s pairs event. Additionally, wushu athlete Liu Xuxu contributed a silver medal in the women’s changquan final, further bolstering the city’s medal count. Notably, Samuel Hui Tak-yan showcased exceptional skill and determination, clinching a silver in the men’s all-round final.
