Sino-American air travel set for major expansion, says Civil Aviation official

29th February 2024 – (Beijing) Air travel between China and the United States is poised for a significant uptick from 31st March, announced Dai Jun, a spokesperson for the Civil Aviation Administration of China, at a press briefing on Thursday.

The forthcoming enhancement will see Chinese and American carriers collectively operating 100 scheduled passenger flights weekly, marking a substantial increase in the availability of air services between the two nations.

“China maintains regular passenger flights with 64 nations, including 48 that are part of the Belt and Road initiative,” Dai stated, indicating China’s extensive aviation network.

Moreover, Dai highlighted that flight frequencies between China and 22 countries, such as Singapore, Australia, the UAE, the U.K., and Italy, have now surpassed those seen before the pandemic struck.
