12th October 2020 – (Hong Kong) Hong Kong singer Kelly Chan’s mother-in-law filed in the Court of First Instance of the High Court last Friday (9th), alleging that her daughter (i.e the elder sister of Kelly Chan’s husband Alex Lau) has been constantly harassing and even beat her. So, she applied for an injunction order against her daughter to approach her and step near her residence to prohibit related nuisance behaviors.

The court has issued a temporary injunction order earlier and the application will be heard again this Friday (16th) to decide whether to extend the injunction. According to the plaintiff’s filing, she, her husband and three foreign domestic helpers lived together in Villa Monte Rosa, Stubbs Road. The defendant agreed to move to the above address from August 2017. The plaintiff alleged that since then, she has been intimidated, threatened and harassed by the defendant many times, and even beaten by her on the 2nd of this month.

The plaintiff now requests the court to issue an injunction order prohibiting the defendant from assaulting, intimidating, threatening and harassing her, her husband and domestic helpers. In addition, the plaintiff also requested that the defendant be prohibited from direct or indirect contact with her and her husband. In addition, the plaintiff also requested the court to prohibit the defendant from entering within 50 meters of her residence or within 10 meters of her and demanded the defendant to pay monetary compensation for her infringement.
