Singapore records highest single-day new cases of COVID-19, tally now stands at 58


13th February 2020 – (Singapore) The Ministry of Health (MOH) of Singapore confirmed today that there are eight new cases of the novel coronavirus in a single day, bringing the total number of cases here to 58. All of them did not travel to China. MOH has initiated epidemiological investigations and contact tracing to identify individuals who had close contact with the cases.

Police traced the new five cases to the Grace Assembly of God cluster while two are linked to the cluster at Seletar Aerospace Heights construction site. The other patient is a family member of the DBS Bank employee tested positive yesterday.

This brings the total number of local transmissions of the virus to 36, more than half of the total. 7 cases have no established links to any previous cases or travel history to China.
