18th May 2024 – (Hong Kong) Mass Transit Railway (MTR) announced this morning, on the 18th, that due to a signal failure near Admiralty Station, trains on the Island Line are required to operate at a reduced speed when passing through the Central and Wan Chai station sections. As a result, commuters travelling between Kennedy Town Station and Chai Wan Station on the Island Line should expect an additional 10 to 15 minutes of travel time.

By around 7am, the signal failure near Admiralty Station had been rectified, and train services on the Island Line were gradually returning to normal.
