Selfish acts spark outrage as 3 women unwrap over 200 apple packages at Wellcome store in Sai Wan Ho to select few

22nd February 2024 – (Hong Kong) A video has been circulating on Hong Kong’s online platforms, exposing the actions of three women at the Wellcome store in Tai On Building, Sai Wan Ho. The video captures the women unwrapping more than 200 apple packages, only to select a meagre 30 Fuji apples from Mainland China, prompting netizens to criticise their selfish behaviour and label it as “appalling” and “ugly.”

The video, which was uploaded on Facebook by a Hong Kong man on Tuesday, February 20, lasts for 17 seconds and reveals the three women at the apple section of the store. As they examine the apples, they immediately tear open the packaging upon picking up each piece, leaving behind a shopping cart filled with at least 20 unwrapped apples. Throughout the video, the women continue to unwrap the packaging, meticulously selecting their preferred apples.

The incident has sparked outrage among the online community, with netizens expressing their disbelief and disapproval of the women’s actions. Many have criticised their lack of consideration for others and their blatant disregard for proper shopping etiquette. The act of unwrapping numerous apple packages without any intention of purchasing them has been widely condemned as wasteful and selfish.
