Security Bureau’s Youth Uniformed Group Leaders Forum explores Greater Bay Area under the guidance of Secretary for Security

10th June 2024 – (Zhuhai) Under the guidance of Secretary for Security Chris Tang Ping-keung, the Security Bureau’s Youth Uniformed Group Leaders Forum recently concluded their visit to the Greater Bay Area with a trip to Zhuhai. The delegation, comprising 31 members, including students from Shenzhen University, aimed to explore innovative construction technologies employed in Mainland China.

During their visit, Mr. Tang and the Leaders Forum members toured the production base of China State Construction International Holdings Limited in Zhuhai. They were introduced to advanced and environmentally-friendly construction techniques used in the development of large-scale projects, such as glass curtain walls, the Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) method, and Multi-trade Integrated Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing modules. The delegation also explored the potential application of these technologies in Hong Kong.

Expressing gratitude to China State Construction International Holdings Limited for their support and arrangements, Mr. Tang commended the company for providing valuable insights into high-end construction technologies. He emphasized the importance of exposing youth members to the country’s “new quality productive forces” and announced that a member of the Leaders Forum would participate in the company’s summer internship program, further nurturing young talent.

Over the past two days, under the leadership of Under Secretary for Security Mr. Michael Cheuk, the Leaders Forum members visited a primary school in Liyuan, Heyuan, to gain insights into local relief work through educational initiatives. Collaborating with students from Shenzhen University, the delegation organized activities for local primary school students, fostering cultural exchanges and facilitating youth engagement.
