Secretary for Justice leads delegation to promote legal services in the Middle East

18th May 2024 – (Hong Kong) The Secretary for Justice of Hong Kong, Mr Paul Lam, SC, is set to lead a delegation of approximately 30 members, including representatives from the Law Society of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Bar Association, the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, Invest Hong Kong, and related sectors, on a significant five-day visit to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, as well as Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. The primary objective of the visit is to showcase Hong Kong’s legal and dispute resolution services while fostering cooperation and exchanges between Hong Kong and the Middle East.

During their stay, Mr Lam and the delegation will engage with local legal and business sectors to gain a comprehensive understanding of their requirements for cross-jurisdictional legal services. Furthermore, they will hold discussions with relevant government officials, focusing on various aspects of legal cooperation to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration.

As part of the visit, Mr Lam will address the local legal and business communities at a networking luncheon in Riyadh and participate in a half-day forum and networking luncheon in Dubai.
