Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry says many leading life and health technology companies interested to set up in HK

29th January 2023 – (Hong Kong) The Hong Kong government set a vision for innovation, technology and industrial development earlier. Professor Sun Dong, the Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, said in a radio interview that the most important thing is to introduce talents and companies from overseas. At present, there are already many leading local and overseas companies in the field of life and health technology which are in active discussion with the government to enter into cooperation agreements to be based in Hong Kong.

In addition, there are also artificial intelligence data science service companies interested in setting up in Hong Kong. The government is discussing with relevant companies, and the details cannot be announced for the time being. Sun said that the government has started work in eight major development areas of innovation and technology announced last year. In the future, the government will strengthen cooperation in the innovation and technology filed with the Greater Bay Area, implement cross-border flow of technology, and jointly build an international innovation and technology park with Lok Ma Chau Loop District and Shenzhen.
