24th September 2023 – (Hangzhou) Hong Kong Secretary for Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Mr Kevin Yeung, expressed his heartfelt congratulations to rowing athletes Lam San-tung and Wong Wai-chun on their remarkable achievement of winning a gold medal in the Rowing Men’s Pair event at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou. This victory marks the first gold medal for the Hong Kong, China Delegation in this year’s Hangzhou Asian Games.
Mr Yeung, who was present in Hangzhou to witness the thrilling competition, commended Lam and Wong for their exceptional talent and unwavering dedication. Their outstanding performance not only brought them personal glory but also brought pride and honour to Hong Kong. Mr Yeung acknowledged the intense focus and determination displayed by the athletes during the competition and shared in their joyous celebration upon clinching victory.
