24th April 2024 – (Hong Kong) At approximately 4pm today, a school bus parked opposite the entrance of the Grand View Garden car park in Diamond Hill was involved in a traffic accident. According to eyewitnesses, the male driver had intended to leave the car park and was in the process of tapping his Octopus card to exit when he unexpectedly fell out of the bus. Tragically, the bus continued moving forward, running over the driver in the process.

Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene after receiving the distress call. The injured driver, identified as Mr. Choi, 47 years old, sustained pelvic injuries. Despite being conscious initially, he was later placed in a neck brace and rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital. His condition deteriorated, and he subsequently fell into a coma before being certified dead.

Upon inspection of the accident site, it was noted that the road surface where the bus was parked had a subtle incline. Additionally, the impact of the accident caused a nearby railing to become dislodged and bent.

Fortunately, there were no students on board the bus at the time of the incident; only a teacher was present. The exact circumstances leading to the bus unexpectedly moving forward are still under investigation.
