18th April 2019 – (Hong Kong) Sammi Cheng finally responded by posting on her Instagram account at around 4.30pm today. She has maintained her stand that she would not file for divorce and she has chosen to forgive Andy Hui for his grave mistake. She expressed that she is still hopeful in their marriage.

‘This painful episode forms one of the most important lessons in our marriage. Both of us have been through numerous emotional upheavals over the years in our marriage. Happiness is fleeting, to be truly joyful in a marriage, we need to go through ups and downs. The key for a marriage to last forever is to truly understand each other’s weaknesses, to forgive and redress each other whenever one makes a mistake as no one is perfect in life. If both of us can overcome this present challenging situation, I believe our marriage will be back on track and our lives will be more meaningful. Finally, I hope the media will give some room to my elderly parents as I have already made public my response. I will take one step at a time. to heal..’
As she is a devoted Christian, she posted a picture with caption on her Instagram, ‘ Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstances.’ – 1 Corinthians 13:7 NLT.
