21st September 2023 – (Hong Kong) The World’s 50 Best Hotels, renowned for recognising the finest bars and restaurants in Asia and around the globe, revealed its inaugural list during a prestigious awards ceremony held at London’s Guildhall on 19th September. This new compilation showcases exceptional hotel experiences and aims to inspire travellers, hoteliers, and consumers worldwide as they plan future trips. The rankings were determined through a two-year polling period, involving 580 anonymous voters, including hoteliers, journalists, and seasoned travellers from nine different regions across the world.
In a remarkable achievement for Hong Kong’s hospitality industry, two hotels from the city secured coveted positions on The World’s 50 Best Hotels list. Rosewood Hong Kong claimed the second spot, while The Upper House ranked at number four. These establishments have gained popularity in recent years, attracting visitors with their exceptional service, luxurious amenities, and prime locations.
Rosewood Hong Kong, located in the vibrant arts and design district of Victoria Dockside, has emerged as one of the city’s most sought-after destinations since its opening in 2019. With its contemporary architecture, stunning views of the city skyline, and a wide array of amenities, Rosewood Hong Kong offers an unforgettable experience for discerning travelers.
The Upper House, nestled in the bustling Admiralty district, stands as a luxury boutique hotel renowned for its elegance and sophistication. Occupying a prime location, it provides guests with a tranquil retreat amidst the vibrant city. The Upper House’s inclusion in the top five of The World’s 50 Best Hotels list further solidifies its reputation as one of Hong Kong’s premier accommodations.
The World’s 50 Best Hotels list encompasses outstanding properties from around the world. Topping the rankings is Passalacqua, a luxury boutique hotel situated in the picturesque Lake Como region of Italy. Bangkok’s Four Seasons Hotel, situated on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, secured the third position, and Aman Tokyo, located near the Imperial Gardens in Tokyo, claimed the fifth spot.
London also made a significant impression on the list, with four hotels earning well-deserved recognition. Claridge’s ranked at number 16, The Connaught at number 22, NoMad London at number 46, and The Savoy at number 47. These esteemed establishments showcase the city’s commitment to providing exceptional hospitality experiences.
In addition to the overall rankings, The World’s 50 Best Hotels presented special awards to acknowledge excellence in specific categories. Maldives’ Soneva Fushi received The Lost Explorer Best Beach Hotel Award, securing the seventh position on the list. Capella Bangkok was honored with the Nikka Best New Hotel Award, ranking at number 11. South Africa’s Singita Lodges claimed the Flor de Caña Eco Hotel Award, audited by The Sustainable Restaurant Association, and earned the 15th spot on the list.
