23rd July 2025 – (Hong Kong) Seven-time snooker world champion Ronnie O’Sullivan, who resides in Hong Kong, attended the grand opening of a Chinese 8-Ball Centre in Kwun Tong on Wednesday. The event, in which O’Sullivan is an investor, drew a crowd of over a hundred enthusiastic fans. The snooker icon revealed his excitement about participating in the Shanghai Masters, set to begin on Monday (28th July). He expressed particular anticipation for a potential match against reigning world champion Zhao Xintong, who defeated him in the semi-finals of the World Snooker Championship in May. O’Sullivan affirmed his readiness for the tournament, emphasising his commitment to rigorous training and maintaining peak performance, declaring, “I am always ready.”
During the ceremony, O’Sullivan shared his intention to visit Hong Kong more often, aiming to connect with fans and participate in snooker events. He concluded by thanking attendees for their support, expressing his gratitude in Mandarin.
