1st October 2026 – (Hong Kong) A rare set of adjoining luxury residential sites on Peak Road has been placed on the market by receivers through a public tender. Colliers Hong Kong and Savills have been appointed as joint sole agents to sell Nos. 86, 88 and 90 Peak Road, with bids due by noon on 2nd December. The combined assets are understood to carry an indicative market value of about HK$1.6 billion and were formerly held by Dr Chan King-wai, founder and chairman of King Wai Group, and related parties.

The properties occupy a total site area of roughly 28,620 square feet within one of Hong Kong’s most prestigious low‑density enclaves, enjoying outlooks towards Repulse Bay and the South China Sea and benefitting from a private driveway and a highly discreet setting. Existing accommodation comprises three four‑storey detached houses with gardens and three three‑storey houses with pools. According to approved plans, the aggregate approved gross floor area is about 18,901 square feet, with each house offering a saleable area in the region of 3,082 to 3,322 square feet. Under the land grant, the maximum permissible buildable area exceeds 19,000 square feet, conferring clear redevelopment potential.

Records show the portfolio changed hands in 2017 for approximately HK$2 billion, equating to more than HK$100,000 per square foot at the time, when the buyer — linked to Dr Chan — was said to be considering a future self‑use redevelopment. The assets were reportedly offered for sale last year amid financial strain but attracted limited interest before being taken into receivership in recent months.

Market representatives noted that the Peak remains a benchmark address for core trophy residential holdings, with constrained supply supporting long‑term appeal among local and international high‑net‑worth buyers. Andrew Ng of Colliers pointed to steady demand for scarce, wealth‑preserving and legacy‑grade assets alongside the growth of family offices and wealth management in the city. Raymond Wan of Savills said the scale — more than 28,600 square feet of land and over 19,000 square feet of developable area — makes this a seldom‑seen opportunity for purchasers to execute a comprehensive, bespoke plan on the Peak.
