Protesters retreat from Gloucester Road to Hennessy Road near SOGO after tear gas rounds fired by police (Updated)

4th August 2019 – (Hong Kong) At 8.48pm, protesters used barriers to block off Gloucester Road (Westbound) and another flash mob of protesters blocked the entrance of Cross Harbour Tunnel from the Hong Kong Island at around 9pm. The entrance to the tunnel via Kowloon side was cordoned off.

At 9.17pm, riot police commenced clearance and started to disperse protesters on Gloucester Road.

Protesters have since moved to Hennessy Road near SOGO at around 9.30pm. A molotov cocktail was allegedly thrown at protesters on Hennessy Road while riot police fired tear gas again after black flag was raised. The statue at Golden Bauhinia Square was vandalised at 9.32pm.

Protesters have begun to occupy Hennessy Road at 9.30pm.
