Prosecution revises and adds charges against 28-year-old pet grooming shop owner in Tai Po


14th February 2020 – (Hong Kong) The 28-year-old female owner who worked at the pet grooming shop in Tai Po was charged for animal abuse at Fanling Magistrates’ Courts on 20th January 2020. She was arrested and charged with one count of animal abuse. The case continued to be heard today at the Fanling Magistrates’ Courts.

The prosecution revised and added more charges. The defendant is now facing a total of 10 charges of animal cruelty involving 10 victimized dogs. The case was adjourned until 18th May to facilitate further investigation by the police, and the defendant continued to be released on bail. The new charges allege that the 28-year-old defendant abused 2 herding dogs, 1 Shiba Inu, and 3 poodles and 1 Corgi, 1 labrador, 1 Bichon Frise, and 1 Yorkshire Terrier.
