Private museum in Yuen Long catches fire, no injuries reported


23rd May 2022 – (Hong Kong) At 7.02am this morning (23rd), a unit in CHIT WING BUILDING, No. 32 to 34, Tai Tong Road, Yuen Long caught fire. After receiving the report, the fire department arrived at the scene to put out the fire quickly. During the fire, no one was injured in the building. After investigation, the fire department believed that a fish tank water pump in the unit caused the fire, and officers contacted the owner to return to the scene.

According to sources, the approximately 3,000-square-foot unit at the site is suspected to be the “Chan Fo Kong Museum”, a private museum. The collections in the unit include coins, stamps, antique clocks, as well as imperial books and other valuables. It is unknown whether the collection was burned during the fire.
