President Xi Jinping to arrive from Shenzhen tomorrow, First Lady Peng Liyuan expected to visit Xiqu Centre

29th June 2022 – (Hong Kong) On the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to the motherland, President Xi Jinping is expected to head to Hong Kong on 30th June and sources revealed that First Lady Peng Liyuan will also accompany him.

On the first day of their visit to Hong Kong on 30th June, the two will travel back and forth between Hong Kong and Shenzhen by high-speed rail on the same day. Peng Liyuan may visit the Xiqu Centre in the West Kowloon Cultural District. It is understood that President Xi will visit Hong Kong via land for the first time, and the police will be on standby.

In addition to stationing heavy troops at the West Kowloon Station, they will also escort the top government officials to ensure that the roads are unobstructed. Although it is not yet known whether President Xi Jinping will attend the ceremony in person, it is revealed that according to the itinerary, President Xi Jinping will go to Hong Kong from Shenzhen while his spouse, Peng Liyuan is expected to stay in the West Kowloon area, including visiting the Xiqu Centre adjacent to the West Kowloon Station. In the evening, they will leave for Hong Kong Island to meet outgoing Chief Executive Carrie Lam to attend a special banquet at the Government House. He is also expected to meet the incoming Hong Kong government officials from the new administration.
