PolyU authority officially takes over the campus, only authorised personnel allowed to enter until further notice


29th November 2019 – (Hong Kong) At around 12.20pm today, the spokesperson of Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) made an official announcement that police, firemen and relevant government department officials have completed the disposal of dangerous items on the campus. Police have since removed the siege and the university authority has taken over to assess the damages on the campus.

The spokesperson further emphasised that there are still risk factors at PolyU. Cleaning and repair works will take some time and hence the campus will need to be closed temporarily. Only authorised personnel will be allowed to enter until further notice.

At the same time, the spokesperson also urged students, teaching staff and the public not to enter the campus during this period.
