23rd September 2023 – (Hong Kong) Yau Tsim Mong district law enforcement officers conducted a successful anti-gambling operation yesterday afternoon (22nd) in the district. They launched a surprise search at a unit located at 31-37 Jordan Road, Yau Ma Tei, smashing an alleged illegal gambling den. During the operation, a 40-year-old Filipino woman was arrested on suspicion of “managing a gambling establishment.”
In addition, within the premises, one woman, one man, one Nepalese man, and one Ukrainian woman (aged 29 to 51) holding a recognizance paper were arrested for “gambling within a gambling establishment.” Law enforcement officers seized five fishing game machines, a card reader, a batch of gaming cards, and approximately HK$1,200 in gambling funds. All arrested individuals are currently under detention.
