9th September 2019 – (Hong Kong) Police finally obtained a copy of the medical report of the girl who ruptured her right eye during the 11th August clash in TST in accordance with Section 50(7) of the Police Force Ordinance. Police are currently reviewing the information received from the Hospital Authority.
Police further explained that the information is likely to be of value to the investigation of any offence that may have been committed. The details of the warrant application to the Magistrate cannot be revealed to reporters as it was conducted under oath.
During the 11th August incident, police arrested over 30 people, some of them were charged for participating in riot. The police need the girl’s medical report to ascertain the cause of her injury.
The girl engaged her lawyer earlier to write a legal letter to the Hospital Authority to prevent police from extracting the medical report but the legal letter had no substance.
