Police fire tear gas round at flash mob protesters who flash laser pointers in front of TST police station (Updated)

10th August 2019 – (Hong Kong) Flash mob protesters deployed guerrilla tactics and barricaded several roads in Tai Wai, Sha Tin and also Cross Harbour Tunnel. Another group of protesters gathered outside TST police station and flashed laser pointers non-stop at the police station. At 8.05pm, riot police raised black flag and fired tear gas rounds at the police station. At 8.07pm, fire broke out from the premises inside.

Riot police have started to commence clearance from the junction of Nathan Road and Austin Road towards TST Police Station.

Over 100 riot police were seen at the junction of Canton Road and Haiphong Road at 8.40pm.

At 8.35pm, traffic returned to normal on Nathan Road. Meanwhile, riot police were still in stand off with protesters in front of THE ONE. Police raised black flag near Carnarvon Road at 8.40pm. Meanwhile, police arrested a female protester at 8.55pm. Riot police fired tear gas rounds outside the police station at 9.36pm. Police raised black flag from TST police station at 11.30pm and fired several rounds of tear gas. At least 3 protesters were arrested at around 11.38pm.

Meanwhile, riot police stood outside Exit B1 TST MTR Station at 11.51pm to intercept protesters. 40-50 riot police also pursued protesters on Hart Avenue at 12am.

The report room services of Tsim Sha Tsui Police Station was temporarily suspended at 8pm . The Police appealed to members of the public not to obstruct the emergency vehicles access so as to avoid affecting the emergency services provided to the public. In case of emergency, please dial 999.
