Police engage in high speed pursuit with a stolen Porsche SUV in Yuen Long


2nd June 2019 – (Hong Kong) New Territories Traffic police who were patrolling on Kau Yuk Road in Yuen Long at 2.40am today stumbled upon a modified Porsche SUV with loud exhaust emission. The driver immediately sped off and turned into Castle Peak Road when police officers approached them. Police then pursued the Porsche for around 3km before colliding with a taxi.

The 25 year old driver then fell off from the vehicle and the Porsche lurched forward 60 meters to hit another car parked on the road side. Police subsequently arrested the driver and they found that the car number plate and car licence were inconsistent.

According to initial investigations, the driver was a secondhand car dealer and the Porsche did not belong to him. He was arrested for car theft and reckless driving. The 22 year old female passenger of the SUV was also brought back to police station to facilitate investigation.
