18th April 2020 – (Hong Kong) Sham Shui Po District police joined forces with Auxiliary Police Force and Immigration Department officers to distribute flyers at Kam Shan Country Park to remind hikers not to gather in groups of four and keep social distancing.
The gathering of more than 4 people will be banned. However, those who need to gather for work, perform duties in courts, legislative council, district councils, other government functions, and attend funerals or weddings will be exempted.
In terms of penalties, offenders will be fined a fixed amount of HK$2,000, or a maximum fine of HK$25,000 and imprisoned for 6 months. She also pointed out that there is no scientific basis on the limit on the number of people who gathered and the limit in other countries ranges from 2 to 10 people.
