11th June 2019 – (Hong Kong) Police have increased their surveillance around Admiralty today including conducting random checks on civilians at Admiralty MTR Station, bus stops and even McDonald’s. Those who were wearing white attire today were specifically being targeted. The situation has become more tense after Chief Executive Carrie Lam reiterated yesterday that the proposed amendments to the Extradition Bill will go through a second reading tomorrow, while its opponents have called for more protest measures including closure of businesses and gathering in front of Legislative Council.

Earlier today, Chief Executive Carrie Lam and Secretary for Justice, Teresa Cheng both received several threatening calls today warning them to resign within 24 hours and to withdraw the proposed amendments to the Extradition Bill immediately.
