Police block Cross Harbour Tunnel from Hung Hom towards Hong Kong island

4th June 2021 – (Hong Kong) At 3.40pm today, police officers cordoned off entrance to Cross Harbour Tunnel from Hung Hom towards Hong Kong island. As Cross Harbour Tunnel connects Hung Hom to Causeway Bay, it is very likely that police block the traffic to prevent protesters from going to Victoria Park this afternoon to participate in illegal assembly. The unexpected move has resulted in severe traffic congestion.

Meeanwhile, police deployed water cannon and armoured vehicles along the Western Harbour Crossing to Hong Kong Island for standby.

Police have mobilised more than 7,000 officers to stand guard at multiple districts to prevent untoward incidents and more than 300 officers are patrolling Victoria Park which has been closed to public since this afternoon.
