Police arrested man for possession of knife in West Kowloon Station

1st July 2022 – (Hong Kong) At about 1pm today, when the police stopped and checked a suspicious man near the high-speed rail station at the junction of Jordan Road and Lin Cheung Road, they found a sharp knife that could be folded into the size of a card in his wallet. The 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an assault weapon. The police are concerned that some people were suspected of having offensive weapons in the downtown area, and it is not ruled out that some people attempted to use related items to harm other people. At the same time, the police noticed that some people on social media called on others to conduct unauthorised public activities in Kowloon and Hong Kong Island today. . The police will continue to conduct risk assessments, review the deployment in various districts, and strengthen interception and inspection of suspicious persons and vehicles to prevent and combat crimes and protect the safety of citizens’ lives and properties.
