7th December 2022 – (Hong Kong) The police received a report from a 67-year-old man that at about 11am today (7th), he had received a call earlier from someone who claimed to be his son. He was detained for criminal investigation and urgently needed HK$50,000 in cash for bail. His ‘son’ claimed that he would send someone to his home to collect money. Officers from the Criminal Division of Tai Po Police District together with officers from the Sheung Shui District Task Force found the target man in front of a shopping mall in Wah Ming Estate, Sheung Shui at about 2.30pm on the same day. The suspect has been detained for investigation. The case was handed over to the Tai Po District Criminal Investigation Team for follow-up. The operation is still ongoing and police are not ruling out further arrests.
