3rd September 2026 – (Hong Kong) Hong Kong police have arrested a 43‑year‑old local man after footage circulated online of a heated argument at a McDonald’s in Choi Ming Shopping Centre, Tseung Kwan O, on 31st August. The video shows two customers trading insults near the counter area before one man, dressed in white with tattoos on both arms, allegedly claimed links to a triad group. Officers were called to the scene following a report by the other party.
Police said the suspect was detained in Tseung Kwan O on 2nd September on suspicion of “claiming to be a member of a triad society”. He is being held for investigation, with the case handled by the Tseung Kwan O Police District Anti‑Triad Squad. Under Hong Kong’s Societies Ordinance, professing or claiming triad membership is a criminal offence.
