Police arrest 3 suspects for allegedly inciting others with intent to cause bodily harm, explosives seized

24th May 2022 – (Hong Kong) The Police Organised Crime and Triad Investigation Division, together with the Cyber ​​Crime Investigation Division and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau (EOD), took action yesterday and arrested 3 suspects for allegedly inciting others with intent to cause bodily harm. During the operation, the police also seized some explosives.

Superintendent Wilson Tam of Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau Technology Crime Division stated that after in-depth investigation, a local man was identified and an arrest operation was launched yesterday afternoon (23rd). The man, who claimed to be a computer technician, and his two family members (aged 31 to 63) were charged with "making explosives" and "inciting others with intent to cause grievous bodily harm" respectively. During the investigation, police officers found a large number of tools and raw materials suspected of making explosives hidden in one of the rooms of the unit. It is not ruled out that the scene was a small chemical laboratory for making explosives. Officers from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau (EOD) and the Government Laboratory were also deployed to the scene to assist, and the case was handed over to the Organised Crime and Triad Investigation Section for follow-up.
