22nd September 2022 – (Hong Kong) According to sources, the police arrested three more registered doctors from private clinics in Yuen Long, Chai Wan and Tin Shui Wai this morning (22nd). They allegedly issued patients with fraudulent “medical exemption certificates for COVID-19 vaccination”.
In addition, the police also arrested 8 more patients suspected of buying “medical exemption certificates for COVID-19 vaccination” in relation to the earlier arrest of a Dr. Tai Kong Shing in Yau Ma Tei.
A 76-year-old doctor in and 3 assistants (35-76) in a private medical clinic in Yau Ma Tei were arrested for issuing patients with fraudulent “medical exemption certificates for COVID-19 vaccination” on 20th September. The total amount involved was in excess of HK$10 million. The clinic is located in Bright Growth Medical Centre on Nathan Road, Yau Ma Tei. Officers arrested Dr. Tai Kong Shing, a male doctor over 70 years old and three female assistants on suspicion of conspiracy to create false documents.
The police earlier received a complaint alleging that a private medical clinic in Yuen Long issued patients with fraudulent “medical exemption certificates for COVID-19 vaccination” and overcharged consultation fees. On 5th September, the officers carried a warrant to search a clinic in the Yuen Long section of Castle Peak Road in Yuen Long, and seized a large amount of evidence including documents and computer records.
After investigation, a female doctor surnamed Choi (64 years old) of the clinic was arrested.
