Police arrest 17-year-old non-ethnic Chinese male employee at Sheung Shui pharmacy for sexual assault of 11-year-old girl


9th June 2023 – (Hong Kong) A sexual assault incident involving an 11-year-old girl occurred in Sheung Shui on 8th June. At around 5.06pm, while the girl was shopping with her mother at a pharmacy located at 67,San Hong Street, she was suddenly touched on her buttocks by a male suspect. The girl immediately told her mother, who promptly called the police. After investigating the incident, the police arrested a 17-year-old non-ethnic Chinese male employee on suspicion of sexual assault. The case has been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Division of the Tai Po Police District for further follow-up.

CCTV footage of the incident shows the girl pushing a shopping cart and selecting items in a narrow aisle between two rows of shelves when a man wearing a blue shirt walked past her. The man then reached out his left hand and touched the girl’s buttocks before walking away as if nothing had happened. The girl was visibly shocked and looked back before leaving the scene with her cart. Another clip shows several police officers arriving at the scene and arresting the suspect.
