3rd June 2023 – (Hong Kong) On 2nd June, a shocking murder occurred at Diamond Hill Hollywood Plaza in Hong Kong, where two women were viciously stabbed and later died in hospital. The incident has sent shockwaves through the city and raised concerns about public safety.
In response to the tragedy, the organisers of the “Happy Hong Kong” Kwun Tong Gourmet Marketplace event, which was scheduled to take place on 3rd June, have announced the cancellation of the opening ceremony. The launch of the “Chill All Night” event at Ocean Park has also been cancelled. The organisers believe that the postponement is appropriate as the tragedy is still fresh in everyone’s minds, and it is not appropriate to hold such events at this time.
The Hong Kong Taxation Institute’s “Tax Debate Competition,” to be held at Plaza Hollywood on 4th and 5th June, will continue as planned. The organiser has assured the public that the event will be held with all necessary safety precautions and protocols in place.
