Pet-friendly Pokfulam Farm opens to public today


    21st April 2022 – (Hong Kong) The more than 100 years old Pokfulam Farm which is located at 141-A, Pok Fu Lam Road is finally open to the public today. The dairy company used to produce fresh milk in 1919. The government has undergone a revitalisation work to convert the Old Dairy Farm Senior Staff Quarters into a living museum. There are thematic guided tours and workshops so as to reveal the history and operation of the Old Dairy Farm.

    Since members of the public need to make an appointment to visit the venue, the number of visitors is not huge. At about 10.30am today, there were already visitors waiting in line outside. Some citizens said that they had been stuck at home for many days due to the epidemic, and were excited to go out.

    A new round of reservations was launched on its Facebook page at 11am on Tuesday, 19th April and the public can make reservations to visit from 5th to 17th May. It will also announce traffic information and detailed visiting rules soon, please pay close attention. Due to the limited manpower of the team, only online appointments are only available during the trial period, any appointments by phone or email are not accepted.     Pets are allowed.

    Opening hours:

    Monday to Friday (except Wednesday and public holidays) 11am – 7pm Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays 10am – 6pm (The ranch is closed on Wednesdays).

    Each slot lasts around one hour and is limited to 20 to 30 people. Due to the small number of visitors, the venue is relatively empty. One of the main buildings in the venue, “Braemar”, is now a Grade 1 historic building. It displays various exhibits related to the old dairy company’s ranch and retains many architectural features.
