15th January 2022 – (Hong Kong) The Anti-Triad Action Team of Yau Tsim Police District raided a unit in the commercial centre at Nos. 4-4A Austin Road today (15th) at 12am today (15th), and smashed a suspected unlicensed bar. During the operation, a man in charge surnamed Kwok (41 years old) was arrested on suspicion of “unlicensed sale of alcoholic beverages”, “unlicensed possession of alcoholic beverages for sale” and violation of the “Prevention and Control of Diseases (Requirements and Instructions) ( Businesses and Places) Regulations (Cap. 599F).
In addition, 11 men and 4 women (aged 25 to 48) were arrested on suspicion of “drinking alcohol on premises without a liquor licence”. They also violated the Prevention and Control of Disease (Prohibition on Group Gathering) Regulation (Cap 599G), the police officers then issued fixed penalty notices to them. During the operation, 144 cans of beer and 5 spirits were seized with a total market value of about HK$4,000. All arrested men and women were being detained for investigation.
