20th November 2023 – (Hong Kong) In an exciting collaboration between Pearl Lam Galleries, MTR, and renowned British artist Mr Doodle, the mesmerizing “Mr Doodle in Space” exhibition will grace the Living Art Stage at Hong Kong Station from November 19 to December 3, 2023. This highly anticipated solo exhibition showcases the exceptional talents of Mr Doodle, inviting art enthusiasts of all generations to embark on a captivating journey through the vast reaches of space alongside the beloved artist and his whimsical creations.
Born with an innate passion for doodling, Mr Doodle, known as Sam Cox, has captured the hearts of viewers worldwide with his unique artistic vision. Labelled as ‘Obsessive Compulsive Doodling’, his prodigious talent has led him to fill sketchbooks and transform various surfaces with intricate doodles, leaving an indelible mark on the world.
The “Mr Doodle in Space” exhibition unfolds a remarkable narrative that centres around Mr Doodle, his partner Mrs Doodle, and their faithful companion, Doodle Dog. The story follows their quest to return to DoodleLand, their home, before Mr Doodle’s evil twin, Dr Scribble, completes his mission to rid the universe of doodles. The exhibition takes visitors on an otherworldly adventure through different realms of space, including “Alien Worlds” and the magical “Paper Galaxy,” culminating in a triumphant showdown between Mr & Mrs Doodle and Dr Scribble, where peace is restored to DoodleLand.
The centrepiece of the exhibition is a colossal spaceship installation, standing at an impressive 2 meters wide and 1.5 meters tall, adorned with Mr Doodle’s captivating doodles. The Living Art Stage at Hong Kong Station will be transformed into a whimsical wonderland, with Mr Doodle’s distinctive black and white doodles adorning the walls and columns, creating an immersive experience for visitors.
The opening of the exhibition was held on 19th November, 2023, at 4pm where Mr Doodle showcased his spontaneous doodling talents, further transforming Hong Kong Station into an enchanting art space.
The completed spaceship installation, along with Mr Doodle’s captivating doodles adorning the walls and columns of the Living Art Stage, will be on display at Hong Kong Station from now to 3rd December, 2023.
