Passengers from high-risk areas prohibited from transiting in HK airport from 16th January (Updated: 7.50pm)


13th January 2022 – (Hong Kong) The Hong Kong government announced today (13th) that from next Sunday (16th) to the 15th of February, passengers from high-risk areas will be prohibited from transiting at Hong Kong Airport.

Transfer or transit passengers departing from specified regions in other groups, Mainland China and Taiwan will not be affected. The Airport Authority stated that the implementation of the new measures is to control the spread of the Omicron variant virus and to further strengthen the protection of airport employees and other passengers. The relevant measures will be reviewed in due course according to the epidemic situation.
